History of Pet Premium Pet Insurance – How it all Started
Pet Premium Insurance cares about animals and their goal is to educate as many people as they can about the benefits of pet insurance. NOT so they can sell policies but because they are sincere in their quest to help keep animals healthy and safe. The more people they reach with the message of how important it is to have health coverage for their pets, the more animals they can improve the lives of. Their goal is to have pet owners be able to look at their pets and not have to worry about vet bills and health costs.
Their focus is on a strong relationship with not only their customers, but their employees, vendors, and business partners too. The foundation of the Pet Premium Company is open communication that is honest and reliable. They do what they claim they do and that builds trust within the entire Pet Premium Company.
Because of the nature of the pet insurance business, they know that not all contact with pet owners will be happy contact. When a pet is sick or injured, pet owners are upset, anxious and stressed. Pet Premium Insurance is not about being fake; they’re about getting results and getting the pets taken care of, with compassion and understanding for the pet owners as well.
The exceptional leadership in this company is committed to providing all PetPremium staff with the knowledge and tools they need to prevent having a negative effect on the environment. They are also about implementing ways to effectively minimize waste and to help their employees reduce, reuses and recycle materials including conserving energy and water.
Although this does not affect their policyholders directly, what it does do is establish the company as one that cares about the environment as a whole, including the animals that live in it. They know that healthy, happy pets equal happy pet owners and that is their mission: to give you the guidance and health plans that can get your pets healthy and keep them that way.
Sadly, only 3% of dogs and 1% of cats are insured for accidents and illnesses, yet the vet’s offices are full each day of pets that are either sick or injured. The pet owners are struggling to pay the bills and in some cases, animals have to be put down due to economic reasons. Vet visits and medical treatments for pets can be costly, but Pet Premium can help reduce those costs significantly.
Pet Premiums plans can cover up to 90% of vet bills! Can you imagine how much help that is to those who have to bring in sick and injured pets? Through open, honest communication the staff at Pet Premium can assist pet owners with choosing and securing the right coverage for their pets at a price they can afford reducing the worry that can go along with pet ownership.
They have three levels of coverage along with wellness options that can fit every need and every budget. Even though many pet owners don’t realize the benefits of pet health insurance, the number of insured pets is growing and Pet Premium’s goal is to raise those numbers more every day.

Once all this is chosen, you’ll see a summary page of everything you have selected, the policy start date and your monthly payment. Here you can also choose how often you want to pay; monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually.
Your last and final step is to input contact information and your billing information. (The credit card you will be paying with.) That’s all there is to it. Filing a Claim with Pet Premium Pet Insurance
Filing a claim with Pet Premium is easy. When you’re pet is sick or injured, you don’t want to have to worry about the hassle of filing claims and that is why Pet Premium made it so easy to do. You can download a form right from the website that will need to be filled out. The claim for is divided into three sections.
- General information
- Diagnosis/Symptom Information
- Pet Owner Declaration
The first section is about you and your pet so we know who the claim is for. You can only submit claims for animals that are actually on the policy. The next section is about why your pet is being seen. This will include diagnosis information and symptoms the pet was having. In many cases the vet will fill this out if you ask him/her to. After reading the Declaration that is on the form, you will need to sign it and date it.
Claims can be faxed, emailed and regular mailed to the company. Keep in mind they try to move as fast as possible to get your claims processed, but it can take up to 30 days to get your checks back. Most companies try very hard to get the reimbursements back to the policyholders in a timely fashion. As long as you have filled everything out thoroughly and carefully and attached the itemized invoices of the visit, your claim shouldn’t take long at all!
Some things that can make claims take longer to process are
- Forgetting to sign the form
- Filling out the diagnosis incorrectly or incompletely (have a vet do it)
- Not attaching the invoices
- Not paying the vet bill before sending in the claim
- Putting in the wrong policy number
These are the most common mistakes that claim processors seem to see over and over. Pet Premium understands that when your pet is injured or sick, it’s hard to think straight, so wait a few days after your vet visit to get the claims filled out. Just be sure not to wait beyond the filing time frame which is anywhere from 90 days to over 180. It’s always better to file the claim right away so that it can be getting worked on. The faster it’s processed the faster you have your money back.
