Although Easy Care has an A+ BBB Rating we did discover several customers complaining about their claims service. Easy Care offers multiple coverage options as well as a transferable warranty. Easy Care also offers an additional service that covers small dings and dents that happen to your vehicle.

Easy Care’s Company History
EasyCare was started by visionaries Larry Dorfman and Martin Blank, APCO founding partners who saw the need and interest consumers had in keeping their vehicles running and looking like new for a lot longer than was considered normal. They created a plan to protect the owners of cars, trucks and SUVs from getting unexpected repair bills. This was called the EasyCare vehicle service contract or extended car warranty. After that came EasyCare Dent Repair and EasyCare KeyCare among other benefits all of which are designed to enhance the vehicle owning experience and take the stress of broken down vehicles and trying to get them fixed out of the equation. This helps them achieve their goal of enhancing the vehicle ownership experience.
After having a highly successful IPO in 1988 ( an initial public offering in which the first sales of stock were offered by the company) they developed very strategic partnerships with some big name car companies including American Honda Finance, Volvo and Sonic Automotive. Ford Motor Company bought APCO in 1999 and in 2007 APCO’s equity partners and employees bought it back. It has remained a company that is focused on consumer-centric growth including the recent partnership with Motor Trend to create Motor Trend Certified Advantage Program.
Their Home Office is located in Norcross, Georgia. Their vision for the company is to remove all headaches and problems from vehicle ownership as possible and making it enjoyable to own and drive your SUV, truck or car daily, regardless of how long you own it. By focusing on their mission, which is to deliver the EasyCare experience of giving customers a Fair, Friendly, Fast and Fun experience; they have become a trusted name in the extended car warranty industry.
EasyCare has many awards and honors including an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and was recently honored with the BBB of Metro Atlanta Torch Awards for Customer and Community Service. They also have the pleasure of being the ONLY extended vehicle warranty that is named a MOTOR TREND® Recommended Best Buy, which is no small feat. In addition to these top honors, in 2009 they were named one of the top diverse multicultural businesses in Georgia by DiversityBusiness.com.
Other accomplishments include being the exclusive provider of the MOTOR TREND Certified Pre-Owned “A better way to buy a better carSM”, they’ve maintained long term positive relationships with Mazda and American Honda Finance and partners with over 2,000 franchise auto dealers and their Vehicle Service Contracts also known as VSCs, are fully insured by an American Motors Best A+ rated member of Universal Underwriters Insurance Company. They were recognized in 2011 as one of the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ in the United States which is an annual award that is given out to top companies that display excellent leadership skills in engaging their employees and creating a great work environment.
What is the Qualification Process with Easy Care?
Getting a vehicle service contract or extended car warranty starts with either calling their customer care agents at 1-800-230-2434 or you can fill out the brief form on their website that you can find under the “Get EasyCare” tab. The form will ask you for your name, email, telephone number, email and zip code. Once you fill out the form you will be referred to an EasyCare dealer closest to you and they will talk to you about the plans that are available and find out what your needs are.
You will need to have some information ready when you talk to them:
- The make and model of your vehicle
- Mileage the vehicle has
- How many miles you drive the car each day or month.
- The length of time you want coverage for
- The deductible you want to pay
There are 4 plans that EasyCare offers. When the agent talks to you, they will go over each of the four plans in greater detail so you know exactly what each plan covers. You can either get just the extended car warranty for your existing car or if you are in the market for a new car, the EasyCare dealers can provide that as well and make sure that you get an EasyCare vehicle protection plan that keeps your new car looking like new for a long time to come.

EasyCare has already thought about those things and have additional coverage plans you can get IN ADDITION to one of the four Extended Warrant Plans. These are not required when you get a vehicle service contract but they are there in case you want them.
EasyCare® Dent Repair
EasyCare Dent Repair is a great effective method for removing dents and dings that can show up on door panels without any idea of how they got there. It’ll keep your vehicle looking like new. Talk to your agent about this when you get your service contract and they can explain what is not covered as well. This coverage includes:
- Easy to do claims
- Lifetime warranty on repairs guaranteed – dings will not reappear
- For new, used and leased vehicles
- Plans that require no deductible
- Will not harm the paint job

Your EasyCare Vehicle Service Contract is Transferable
One of the many great things about EasyCare Service contracts is that they are transferable in the event that you sell the vehicle the contract covers or give it away. There are some conditions that apply but if you meet the following conditions, you can transfer your contract along with selling your car which makes your vehicle more valuable to another potential owner.
- The vehicle must be available to inspection
- The extended warranty must be transferred within 30 days of transfer of ownership (title)
- Transfer cannot be to a vehicle dealer or a customer of a vehicle dealer
- All remaining underlying warranties are transferred to the new owner
- Leased vehicle contracts can’t be transferred unless the original person leasing is now purchasing the vehicle.
If you meet all of the above criteria, then you can transfer your service contract to whoever is buying your car. If there is any question as to whether you qualify, call customer service and they can help you. Once you have determined that your service contract can be transferred, then just follow the steps outlined below.
- Letter to EasyCare stating the new owner of the car and give that name as the new contract owner
- Provide the warranty, the transfer fee and written evidence that maintenance requirements have been followed. (copies of service receipts, etc)
- Provide change of ownership documents and the mileage at the date of transfer
- Provide copies of all documents sent to the manufacturer verifying the transfer of the factory warranty if you have one on the vehicle.

Using EasyCare’s Claims Service
Filing a claim to get a repair done through EasyCare is a simple process that will not cause stress or frustration. The whole goal of EasyCare is to make things easy and fast. Filing a claim shouldn’t be any different. All you need to do is bring your car to the dealership that issued your vehicle service contract or any licensed repair shop of your choice. (Make sure they are licensed) Give the service technician your EasyCare contract information and your ID BEFORE ANY WORK IS DONE. This is a big thing to remember because if repairs are made prior to the claim being approved, you will not be able to have them cover or reimburse the cost. Have all of your service and maintenance records for your covered vehicle where you can reach them easily in case you need them.
Once the diagnosis is complete, the service tech calls the EasyCare claims representative and get approval for the claim. They will call (800) 538-4181 and will not typically be on the phone longer than 5 minutes. After the repair is approved, completed and the repair order is sent to EasyCare, the bill is paid by EasyCare via a corporate credit card. It’s a simple claims process that vehicle owners and service technicians both appreciate. Claim department hours are Monday – Friday from 8am to 8pm EST and Saturdays from 9am to 12pm EST
