For newbies, there is a bit of a learning curve. Having many functions to choose from means you would have to spend some time learning what each one does. For some the front panel could be a bit difficult to understand. The hopper is non-removable; you can’t just swap it for another. You have to empty it to change the beans. The only plus for new users is that it is highly repeatable on any setting and you don’t have to tweak in between grinds.
It looks small and compact but its results would amaze you. Most premium burr coffee grinders are usually very heavy and bulky but not the Baratza Vario. It has a lot of admirers due to its sturdy build which is quite appealing as well as being very functional. We believe that it would last for many years but it only comes with a 1 year warranty.
