As the saying goes: health is wealth. So far everything in your body works the way it is supposed to, there is no limit to what you can do. You can do whatever you want to do, whenever you want to.
However, once in a while, we tend to take our bodies for granted because we are used to them functioning perfectly. What we don’t realize is that our bodies are affected by our lifestyle. In these cases, our bodies send messages to know that something is wrong. Here are 7 messages that our body sends that should never be ignored.
1. ABRUPT CHANGES IN WEIGHT

Weight loss is something that makes most people happy. But in some cases, this may be a cause for concern. If there is no apparent reason for the weight loss, it may be a sign that something is wrong somewhere.
An abrupt change in your weight may be a sign that your thyroid is not functioning well. It may also be due to lack of sleep as your body interprets lack of sleep as stress, and so begins storing fat to compensate. Hormonal imbalances can also cause a sudden change, especially in the days before your period starts.
2. PUFFY OR SWOLLEN LEGS AND FEET

When your legs or feet swell up, it may be a sign that you are suffering from edema, which can be caused by a high blood pressure or heart problems. Also, a puffy face may be a warning signal from your kidneys.
If you have swollen veins in your leg, it may be a sign that there is a link between varicose veins and edema. You shouldn’t take this lightly. Go to a doctor immediately!
3. SUDDEN BRUISING

When your skin bruises with no obvious reasons, it may be an indication that your body is Vitamin C deficient, which has affected your metabolism, hence the bruising. You should eat more fruits that are rich in Vitamin C and take Vitamin C supplements.
It may also be due to vasculitis which is an inflammation of the walls of the blood vessels. You should see a phlebologist to ascertain if this applies to you.
Sudden bruising may be an indicator of thrombocytopenia, a condition where your body can’t produce enough platelets. You should visit your doctor to get yourself checked.
4. YOUR TONGUE’S COLOR

Your tongue should have a nice pink color. A little bit of whiteness on your tongue poses no threat, but a thick whitish coat may be a sign that you have indigestion, and should visit a gastroenterologist quickly.
A yellow colored tongue is an indicator of liver or gallbladder disease, while a grey tongue is a sign of dehydration or intestinal problems, and you should pay your doctor a visit as soon as possible.
5. THE COLOR OF THE WHITE PARTS OF YOUR EYE

Just as the color of your tongue can be an indicator of a myriad of illnesses, the white part of your eyes can do the same too. Changes in the color of your eyes might be due to a variety of reasons.
- A yellow color is a sign that something is wrong with your liver. This isn’t child’s play and shouldn’t be treated with levity.
- Red eyes are an indicator of eye infections or diseases. It may also result from strain on the eyes as a result of either staring at a computer screen for long periods of time, or intense workout.
6. THE STATE IN WHICH YOUR NAILS ARE

Like so may other parts of your body, changes in the color and texture, or any other condition may be a message from your body that something is wrong somewhere. For example, black, yellow or brown strips or spots on your nails are a sign that you have onychomycosis, a fungal infection.
If your nails are deformed, then you are probably lacking in Vitamin B1, Vitamin D, iron and calcium. Inadequate levels of these minerals cause your nails to grow abnormally. If your nails are brittle and break easily, then you are likely suffering from hypothyroidism.
7. THE COLOR THAT YOUR GUMS ARE

if your gums are healthy, they should be pink in color. Any other color may be a sign that there is something wrong with your body. If the gums around a tooth are sore, then this is a sign of gingivitis which is an inflammation of the gums. Sensitivity of the gum and bleeding from the gum are common symptoms too.
Periodontitis is an infection that causes your gums to become loose and detached from the tooth, thereby leaving a gap where food may get stuck in. it may also cause the roots of your teeth to become exposed and the gap between the roots and your gums to widen.
These 7 signs are just a few of the many messages that our bodies send but tend to go unnoticed. It is very important to pay attention to our bodies so we can notice these signals and get help before things get worse.
